I had my two lower right molars extracted almost 72 hours ago due to abscess. I had been on 4 different antibiotics for about a month before the two teeth were pulled.

I'm now noticing what looks to be some whitish film over the top of the holes now. The stitches are still in, my gums are still swollen a bit (not so bad you can tell by looking at me, only by pressing on my cheek) and I'm noticing a bad taste coming from that area. I'm in no pain though.

Should I assume that even though the teeth were pulled the infection never was fully eliminated and that it's still there?

Also, I have a ton of Penicillin VK 500mg, Amoxicillin 500mg, Keflex 500mg and Cipro 500mg left over. I'm wanting to save a trip back to the same dentist as I don't have dental insurance and it'll more than likely end up costing me another $200 just to be told to start taking antibiotics.

I was recently prescribed a course of Cipro (500mg, twice daily) but was warned strongly by my doctor NOT TO EXERCISE AT ALL while on it because it could made my tendons rupture.

I researched online a little and found that this was an extremely rare side effect and that there were some lawsuits because doctors hadn't warned patients about the possibility of exploding tendons and such.

So I'm trying to figure out: is my doctor's restriction just to cover his own ass? Or should I honest-to-God not exercise and be careful while on Cipro? I ask because I am fairly active and would like to AT LEAST be able to do maybe 45 minutes of cardio on an elliptical machine 4-6 days a week.

Normally, I walk almost 4 miles in an hour everyday, but I have been on antibiotics (Cipro) for a bladder/kidney infection that I let go on for too long (3 weeks). I currently have a UTI and was given ciprofloxacin 500mg tablets. The doctor said it was a bad UTI with lots of puss. I have to take 2 a day,12 hours apart for 10 days. I am currently on day 7of taking these pills but yesterday I had slight burning at my urethra while sitting, and later it slightly burned while I peed. I was pain free about day two/three and I know your symptoms are supposed to go away within the first few days. I know some people are resistant to cipro, but the doctor said he would do a culture and call back if I was resistant to switch my pills. He never called so I assume I'm not resistant. So either my UTI isn't going away or it's something else. I have no discharge, itching, redness, soreness, blisters, swelling or any other pain. I highly doubt it's a STD since I've been with my partner for 4 years. What's most likely wrong with me? Obviously I need to go back to the doctor for tests but I just want some ideas to bring up with him.
I also had a UTI in june that had no symptoms till it went to one of my kidneys. The UTI I currently have had no symptoms except for occasional burning.

And yes I realize even though I don't think it's an STD I should get an STD test . I plan on it.

I went to the doctor on fri-10/24, he diagnosed me with a UTI, which I already new since I've had one before. I took my first cipro that night and have taken 2 500mg pills a day since. I am supposed to take them for 7 days. He and I both concluded that this one was worse than my last one, based on severity of the pain and the clots of blood in my urine. I've now been on the cipro since Friday night, my symptoms are somewhat better, however I still feel achey and crampy, and *heavy* in the pelvic area, some pain in my bladder when I urinate(its a bladder infection, its not in my urethra), and yesterday morning started feeling EXTREMELY sleepy and having lower back pain. Today I still have all that, along with the *urgency* seeming to come back, and back pain near my kidney area...HOWEVER, the kidney area isn't really tender to the touch, its just achey. Every so often I'll get an intense throbbing pain that will shoot from my back down into my pelvis and groin. My normal temp is around 97.5 degrees, today it is 98.7, not what I would call a fever. I do have nausea and diarrhea, but I figure that is probably from the cipro since both are listed as possible side effects. Should I consider it might be a kidney infection or just a bad bladder infection? Obviously if I don't start feeling much better I will call my doc(especially since he said I should feel much better after 24 hrs), just looking for some first hand experience. Thanks in advance.

They put my on CIPRO 500mg 2x per day for 10 days. This is in response to my 3rd UTI in 4 months. Is this a new infection, or did the original never really go away?

Also -- could this have moved to my KIDNEYS, too?

I started Cipro 500mg for a bladder infection yesterday. I took 1 tab yesterday afternoon, one in the evening, and one this morning. The foul odor of my urine cleared up by the time I went to bed last night, but I'm still experiencing frequency and cramping when I empty my bladder.
